Being different is a strength
I help a lot of people with a lot of different struggles, but because of how isolating it can be when you don’t fit into the mainstream, I’m very interested in helping people whose ways of thinking, identities, life experiences, passions, and lifestyles don’t match up with those of the people around them. If trauma is part of that difference, that’s something we can gently explore together too. Being different can make it hard to find a sense of identity and community and leave you wrestling with big questions about meaning and purpose. I'm committed to helping you work on easing the deep wells of confusion, shame, and fear that often accompany being different or struggling with trauma. It's possible to develop a new relationship with who you are and find ways to thrive that feel sustainable.
I also work with teens and offer play therapy for children. When I work with teens and children, parent/caregiver participation is usually a major part of the therapy, especially with younger children. As part of our intake process, we would decide together in what ways and how often we would be in contact and how you’d be involved with your child’s therapy as we find ways to support your child in expressing what they feel and need, and in developing creative ways to meet those needs.
